The challenge: Upgrade the audio-visual technology, paging systems, and the lighting systems for the entire facility with 65 days and no shutdown of the 24 hour, 80,000 sq. ft. facility.
In October 2013, the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation upgraded its Coquitlam property to a prestigious Hard Rock Casino Vancouver. With various owner groups involved and knowing major changes were coming throughout the renovation cycle, the audio-visual integration team was required to be dynamic and flexible, and able to integrate world class technology that is scalable and capable of various uses throughout its life cycle.
With over 25 zones of audio, multiple microphone locations, audio and paging inputs, and more; Hard Rock needed an Audio DSP that could handle that volume while being scalable in its I/O architecture.
Paladin integrated a Crestron Control for the audio-visual technology and third party systems due to the scalability of the technology and its capabilities. Touch panels allowed the end user full control of the audio and visual systems throughout the facility from the touch of a button. LED lighting was integrated into this system to enable entire rooms to change colours depending on the event or season.
The end result of the design and implementation for the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver took a very complex set of systems and fully integrated them in a way that made it simple for the end user to operate and understand. The Hard Rock Casino Vancouver opened on time, December 20th, 2013.
